We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Let It Roll by Secondhand Serenade

The night smells like december

And we're deep undercovers
Staking out what could be
Better than all the money in the world

And I'm watching you and I'm waiting
For the perfect time to start
Participating and you signal me to stay
But I open my mouth any way

But it's over were gonners
It's out of our control
And if theres one thing that i know
Its that its best to just let it roll
So lets just let it roll

Your hazel eyes paralyze my senses
Cut me down to size defenseless
I'm defenseless
And I know its late but I'm waiting
For the moment that I've been anticipating
And I signal you to go where it will take us I don't know

But its over were gonners
Its out of our control
And if theres one thing that I know
Its that its best to just let it roll
So lets just let it roll

Just don't waste your night before it started
Make sure I'm worth every single second

And now its over were gonners
Its out of our control
And if theres one thing that i know
Its that its best to just let it roll
So lets just let it roll

i shall find sometime when i'm really free to continue the story.. but anyway, now for some normal (well, when it comes to me nothing's normal really)

the first week of school has whizzed by and i'm settling into m2 rather well. wonder when it's appropriate to turn on the mugging engine... (not so soon la...)

dnd's coming up and our table is going all out man.. i bet we'll all look super funny! and it's gonna be a BLAST! i mean you don't expect a whole table to superheroes to go unnoticed now do you? haha..

a capella for dnd's no joke either.. soloing for footloose.. as usual throw the insanely high parts to shawn - who isn't a true tenor. haha. but i'm not complaining, i get to be a soloist! wah.. haha. hopefully when i start screeching and screaming my high notes people don't leave the hotel...

that's that for the recap. now for my resolutions! after all it's the start of the academic year. (you know after 12 years of education where the academic year coincides with the start of the year) anyway... *deep breath*

Hopefully that'll do it...

Interlude
Cue the Sun!

We take a break from your usually scheduled "Adventures of SuperShawn" to bring you a special interlude aka interleukins... hahaha...

If I find my way through the darkest of days,
Will I laugh about the things that kept me awake?
But if my greatest fear paints itself so crystal clear,
Will I run away or will I hide?

And if I don't come home tonight,
Just know I tried my best to fight.
Please don't think I plan to lose to the night.
And curse the moon so dull and bright,
My heavy soul can't stand the light.
It burns me straight to the bones, my bones

In the desert sun I watched my nerves come undone.
One by one my strings they tangled into knots.
And ever since that day, deep in Santa Fe.
I've learned to hate myself for giving everything away.

And if I don't come home tonight,
Just know I tried my best to fight.
Please don't think I plan to lose to the night.
And curse the moon so dull and bright,
My heavy soul can't stand the light.
It burns me straight to the bones, my bones

Chapter 2
A Twisted Tail

Shawn awoke the next morning at his usual 11 in the morning routine. As he slowly opened his bedroom door, taking extra care not to stub his swollen toe again, he discovered breakfast at his doorstep.

"Strange..." he wondered to himself. "Mom never puts breakfast on the floor like that..."

"Oh well..." he sighed taking a bite of a peanut butter sandwich and a swig of OJ almost simultaneously.

Dragging himself to the kitchen, Shawn realized the ridiculous pig tracks was gone. He muttered to himself that it must have all been a dream before stopping dead in his tracks at the sight of a pig in the kitchen.

"What are you..."

"Doing here?" finished the pig as it reared up on its hind legs.

Shawn's jaw dropped. There was a pig in his kitchen and it was on two legs.

"You're not going to tell me that four legs are bad and two legs are good, are you?"

"No, you're confusing me with my cousin Nappy... Yeah, people used to say we really looked alike..." suddenly breaking off after realizing he was reminiscing unnecessarily. "Anyway, I'm here because, as you must have realized, you are special!" continued the pig.

"Special? Is this where you drag me off to that place in Buangkok?" replied Shawn with an almost dreadful fear in his voice; maybe he knew all along this day would come.

"What? No no, my dear boy. Not at all. My, how rude of me, I have yet to introduce myself. I'm SpiderPig. My friends call me Spidey."

"Oh... Hi Spidey!" cheered Shawn with much enthusiasm then realizing it was quite silly to be speaking to a pig after all.

"Alright, Shawn. I'm here to tell you that you've been accepted to the SOM."

"I got into medicine?! That's great!" Shawn exclaimed with glee.

"Oh pardon my use of acronyms. But that stands for the School of Mutants..." interjected Spidey, not wanting to ruin Shawn's moment.

"What?! I'm a m..mutant? But that can't be! I.. I can't do anything special."

Spidey paused and surveyed Shawn through those beady glass-like eyes of his before saying, "We call people like you, the Undiscovereds. But the real reason why the school has sent me to escort you, is that we've not had a Class 1 in a long time."

"A class what?!" retorted Shawn.

"Well, mutants are arranged according to the potential of their abilities. The lower the number, the greater the power." explained Spidey in an almost matter-of-fact tone.

Shawn paused for a moment allowing the information that had just transpired to seep in. He looked as if he had the wind knocked out of him. Slowly, he got off the kitchen stool which he had unconsciously planted himself on.

"Alright, so this school is supposed to teach me how to use these abilities for good?" he asked.

Spidey nodded knowingly, this still greatly disturbed Shawn as he wondered how a pig could nod. Spidey bent over and trotted on all fours to the main door of the house.

"Now if you will, Shawn, it's time to get your books. School starts in a week."
